Linda Cannon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Colonial Funeral Home of Irving on Jun. 12, 2024.
Linda Marie Cannon, 73, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2024 with her children by her side. She was born on June 29, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to R.C. (Bob) and Delores Bates. She grew up in a cute little yellow house in Irving, Texas and became a big sister at the age of 8 to twin brothers, Terry and Jerry. She graduated from Irving High School in 1968. She met and married Dennis and became a mother to Tonya when she was 24. Later, she worked for Dr. Pepper, where she met and married Gary, the father of two of her children, Craig and Brittany. Linda loved cheering on her children at their different sporting events, watching sports on tv, cooking delicious meals, and spending time with family. She was a proud mother, but her biggest joy was being GiGi to her three beautiful granddaughters. Her children would describe her as a world class listener with the most contagious laugh.
Linda is preceded in death by her father, R.C. Bates, and mother, Delores Bates. She is survived by her three children, Tonya and husband Ben Steiner, Craig Cannon and wife Valerie, and Brittany and husband Caleb Hall, her three granddaughters, Hadley, Hayden, and Leslie, brother Jerry Bates and wife Jenny, brother Terry Bates, and many nieces and nephews.
