Dennis Harold Green

Dennis Harold Green, age 82, of Austonio, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his home. He was born June 14, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, to Henry and Reta Green.

After graduating from Irving High School, Dennis served in the United States Navy. He later worked in Houston as a sprinkler fitter for Wm. H. LaDew before beginning a long career as an insurance claims adjuster. In 1985, he moved his family to Austonio and eventually transitioned into work as a catastrophe claims adjuster for State Farm, assisting with major natural disasters claims across the United States.

He retired in the late 1990s and enjoyed working in his yard and vegetable garden, watching boxing matches and classic westerns, and listening to country music.

Dennis is survived by his daughters, Denise Marshall of San Antonio and Dena Scott of Huntsville; his stepson and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Linda Shuffler of Lovelady; grandchildren Anthony LaPaglia of Spring, Joshua Darden of Fort Worth, Jon Shuffler of The Woodlands, Anna Tohill (Clayton) of Katy, Sarah Lynn Darden of San Antonio, Jake Scott of Huntsville, and Madison Marshall of San Antonio; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brothers David (Terri) Green of Grand Prairie and Jimmie (Twila) Green of Rockwall; sister Joan Hays of Rockwall; and sister-in-law Donna Green of Arlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tony Green; his stepdaughter, Jamie Davis; his brother, Warren Green; and his sister, Anniece Strange.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
