I have always known Linda as "Aunt Linda." She was married to my brother, and had three children, Spencer, Stuart, and Hallie, who are my niece and nephews. Linda was forever giving, giving to her kids, grandkids, to her relatives, to other friends. She always welcomed me with a warm and the twinkling smile a lot of people mention! I will really miss her and knowing she is "there," as I have lived at a distance for many years but thought of her often when I didn't see her. My sister, Mardi, kept in the closest touch with Linda throughout the years. She and Hermann took her food often after she was having her health problems. I know she suffered so much, but one of the last times I saw her, we were picking her up for a ladies' dinner out, and she had been cooking up a storm in her kitchen for other people. She was walking with a walker then, so how did she do it all, right to the end? GOD BLESS LINDA!! I will miss her......

I knew Linda because my Mother was a Carlson. I also knew Linda because she was my Spanish teacher in high school for two years. Her love of the language shined brightly everyday we were in class. While I never traveled with her to Central America, I have traveled to Honduras, El Salvador, and Costa Rica that always brought back memories of Linda's teaching me the construct of the Spanish language. Linda did make learning fun and provided cultural knowledge that remains with me fifty years later. Gary Thurston

Her smile will always be remembered. A gracious lady and loved by those that knew her. She will be sadly missed.
