Linda "Lynn" Fay Childs, 75, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at her home in Oak Grove, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16 th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove; burial in Corn Cemetery, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.

Lynn was born October 18, 1949, in Chillicothe, MO, the daughter of Virgil and Rena (Chapin) Sewell. She worked many jobs over the years, including for the government, substitute teaching, and managing retail stores. Her favorite was manager of Phanora's, a small family-owned retail store in Oak Grove. Lynn loved raising her grandchildren, was an avid reader, and loved flowers. She was also a 3 rd grade Sunday School teacher for many years and she loved the Lord.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Matthew Childs and Amanda Childs; four siblings: Jim Sewell, Ronnie Sewell, Grace Church, and Dennis Sewell; and brother-in-law, Melvin Childs.

Her survivors include her husband, Dale Childs of the home; granddaughter, Mikayla Ringhofer (Luke) of St. Paul, MN; grandson, Isaiah Childs-Akers of Oak Grove; granddaughter, Semyah Childs of Oak Grove; great-granddaughter, Kate Ringhofer; four siblings: Carolyn Hutchings (Hutch) of Plano, IL, John Sewell (Judy) of Raintree, MO, Richard Sewell (Birdie) of Houstonia, MO, Keith Sewell of Mexico, MO; sister-in-law, Shila Childs of Jefferson City, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
