Linda Johnson Cliett

Linda Johnson Cliett, a lifelong resident of Blakely, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9th, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Blakely on April 9th, 1947, Linda was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who touched countless lives throughout her journey.
Linda dedicated 32 years of her life to the Early County School System as a passionate and impactful school teacher. Her love for education and her students left a lasting legacy within the community. After earning her Master's Degree in Education, she continued to inspire and nurture generations of students with unwavering dedication and a kind heart.
A devoted member of the White Plains Free Will Baptist Church, Linda lived her life rooted in faith and compassion. Her involvement in the church community brought her immense joy, and she cherished the friendships and spiritual connections she made over the years.
Linda is lovingly remembered by her children: David Todd Cliett (Leslie) of Parrott, GA, Bryon Keith Cliett (Kelly) of Panama City Beach, FL, Rebekah Crawford (Warren) of Miller County, GA, and David Skipper also of Miller County, GA. She was the proud grandmother of Joshua Cliett, Jacob Cliett (Anna), Jessica Cliett, Jebediah Cliett, Kyle Masse, Aidan Cleveland, and Clara Crawford, and a beloved great-grandmother to Blakelee Cliett, Mitchell Bland, Greyson Bland, and Sadie Knights.
She is also survived by her sisters, Beverly Johnson Jordan (Joe) of Columbia Falls, MT, and Sandra Johnson Staley (Dan) of Seneca, SC, as well as her brother-in-law, James Wilson (Becky) of Phenix City, AL. Linda's presence will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, as well as Ronnie Skipper, the father of Rebekah and David.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, James Bruce Johnson and Martha Lee Murkerson Johnson, her brother, Gary Johnson, her sister, Nan Johnson Wilson, and father of her children, David Cliett.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 3-5 PM at the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the same venue.
Linda will be laid to rest with the support of pallbearers Larry Reynolds, Larry Brown, Allen McCoy, Paul Howard, Doug Williams, Toby Warr, and honorary pallbearers Larry Murkerson, Gary McGlamory, Steve Swords, and the late Jim Clinkscales, and Matt Pritchett, who each held a special place in her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to White Plains Free Will Baptist Church, 491 Old Lucile Road, Blakely, GA 39823.
