Linda Jo Cline, age 78, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 8, 1947, in Lineville, Alabama, to Marie and Joe Patterson and the second of seven children, Linda built a life defined by courage, devotion, and generosity - a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
Linda moved to Atlanta as a young woman to live at the Home for Christian Businesswomen, working at First National Bank, beginning an independent journey that reflected her strength and spirit. She later married the love of her life, Garry Cline, and together they built a marriage of 53 years, grounded in partnership, laughter, and devotion to family.
Linda poured her heart into raising her children, and her role as a mother was one of the great callings of her life. She worked at Britt Elementary while her children were in school and later earned her real estate license, building a successful career as a residential realtor. She also served as a Stephen Minister and volunteered generously with numerous organizations that supported many other causes close to her heart. Wherever someone needed support, Linda showed up.
Her greatest joy came in being a grandmother. She delighted in every milestone, celebration, and ordinary moment, finding profound happiness in being a constant presence in her grandchildren's lives. Birthdays, anniversaries, and family traditions were celebrated with enthusiasm and love-Linda believed in honoring every blessing and marking every joy.
Linda was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was active in P.E.O., Chapter AJ\GA and Chapter Z\GA, proudly sharing that sisterhood with her daughter, Laura.
Strong, brave, smart, and deeply kind, Linda lived with both grace and grit. She loved being outdoors, rarely sitting still, finding peace in gardening and joy in nature's beauty. She inspired confidence in everyone she met, helping others believe the world was wide open to them. She brought people together, serving as the anchor and bedrock of her family and community.
Her playful, wry sense of humor and her unforgettable laughter-the kind that brought tears to her eyes-brought warmth and delight to countless moments. She solved problems with determination, cared without hesitation, and loved without limits. The love she shared was so abundant it now echoes everywhere through the lives of all who were lucky enough to know her.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Garry Cline; her children Laura Cline (spouse: Mike Johnson) and Chris Cline (spouse: Ron Rezendes); and her cherished grandchildren Baedrian Cline (spouse: Sreynich "Niki" Cline), Niko Johnson, and Pax Johnson. She is also survived by her sisters Patsy and Beth, her brothers Michael and Bruce, brothers-in-law Stuart and Lowell and sister-in-law Sandy, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind extended family and dear friends who will forever hold her memory as a blessing..
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Decatur Emergency Assistance Ministry at Holy Trinity Parish of the Episcopal Church.
The family will receive guests Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Fischer Funeral Care, 3742 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA 30341.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November16, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Snellville with Pastor Allison Per-Lee officiating.
A private committal service will be held at a later date at Decatur City Cemetery.
