Linda P. Clippinger

Linda, Clippinger, 83, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Green Ridge Village in Newville.

Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Cohill) Peterson and the wife of 62 years to James Mark Clippinger, who passed away in 2022.

Linda was a graduate of Carlisle High School, class of 1959 and she attended Sherwood Music School, Chicago. She worked as a PAT (Pre-Admission Testing) Coordinator for Carlisle Hospital, was a secretary at Lamberton Middle School and worked in accounts receivable for PA Farm Bureau.

Linda was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in the Stephen Ministry and, because of her music background, she was a church organist for many churches in the Cumberland County and surrounding area.

Survivors include her children, Mark Allen Clippinger (Michele), of NC, Judith C. Largent (James, Jr.), of Newville, Cheryl L. Rechtor (Steven), of Pittsburgh, Jonathan I. Clippinger (Ann), of Mt. Holly Springs; her nine grandchildren and her 14 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2025 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 51 W. Main Street, Newville, where the family will greet guests after 10 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held privately.
