Linda Marie Hill Cobble, 71 of Rusk, TX passed away August 9, 2025 in Rusk. Linda was born on March 28, 1954 to parents Clovis and Josephine Hill. She spent all her life residing in the great city of Rusk. She graduated from Rusk High School in May of 1972. She is fondly remembered for her time serving the City of Rusk as the "meter maid". It is during her time spent strolling the square in town that she met the love of her life Bill Cobble. During their marriage they welcomed 2 children. Linda absolutely loved being a mother and homemaker. She spent many hours sewing sequins on costumes, volunteering as an aide at Rusk Primary, working on lesson plans and props for vacation bible school, as well as driving to numerous twirling competitions and soccer games just to name a few. It was always counted a joy for her to serve her family. Linda underwent her first neuro surgery to remove a benign brain tumor in the early 80s. Although it was considered a success for its time, complications from this initial surgery left her with a long line of health concerns including a seizure disorder that lead to the remainder of her life undergoing numerous therapies and rehabilitations. The title of devoted wife and mother shifted into doting "Bunny" as she welcomed her 4 grandchildren over the last 13 years where she was graciously cared for by the staff of Cherokee Trails. There was not a staff member that didn't acknowledge her by our family term of endearment. She will forever be remembered as our "Bunny". Linda is survived by her daughter: Brittany Hill Cobble Birdwell and son-in-law: Leslie of Rusk; son: Stephen Justin Cobble and daughter-in-law: Elizabeth of Rusk; grandchildren: Emily Birdwell, Addilee Birdwell, Cohen Cobble, and Liam Cobble; sister-in-law: Darlene Pryor of Frankson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the Chapel of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Hassell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 am until service time on Wednesday morning.
