Linda Cockrum Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by David Lee Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 4, 2025.
Linda Lee Cockrum, age 84, of Raymore Missouri passed away from stage 4 lung cancer on Monday, December 1, 2025.
My mama, Linda, was born in Franklin, IN on April 29, 1941 to Edith and Francis Richards. After graduating high school in 1959, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri. She eventually became a secretary at Western Electric in Lee's Summit. She met the love of her life, Carl, an engineer at Western Electric, shortly after. They were married on February 14, 1969, along with Carl's daughter, Carla. They were blessed with two more children; Wendi, and Christopher, who passed at three days old.
Mom was a woman of strong faith who overcame many health obstacles throughout life journey. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 30, Type 1 Diabetes at 55, suffered with dementia in her later years, and received a cancer diagnosis in 2022. Through all of those trials, the joy of the Lord continued to shine through her. She was a bright light and the life of the party. If you knew my mama, you loved her! Her smile was contagious and the cutest thing you've ever seen. My parents spent so many years ministering to youth through Kansas City Youth for Christ. She loved to see others follow Christ.
Mama is now dancing on the streets of gold with my daddy. Heaven is our Home. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Linda, please visit our floral store.

Yesterday

My name is Caroline Helliker and I worked at AT&T for 29 years. I worked with your dad more than your mom. She would come to our monthly lunch meetings with your dad. I and and Peggy Kruse would attend and I met her there. She was such a sweet and loving person. Thank you for taking such good care of her, your reward is in heaven
