With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Marie Conrad (Gayton), who found eternal peace on August 22, 2025, at the age of 71.

Born and raised in Gloucester, Linda attended St. Ann's School and was a proud graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1972. It was in Gloucester where she built a beautiful life-marrying her best friend, Richard "Dickie" Conrad, with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this October. Together, they raised a loving family and created a welcoming home filled with warmth, laughter, and connection.

She spent many years working at Connor's Pharmacy, where she became a familiar and beloved face in the community. Her kindness, humor, and genuine care made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike. Linda had a unique gift for making people feel seen and valued-she never met a stranger, and it often seemed as though she knew everyone in town.

Linda's love for life was infectious. She was social, spirited, and always ready for a conversation or a laugh. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and her absence leaves a deep and lasting void. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband Richard and their two sons, Michael Conrad (and wife Jennifer) and Christopher Conrad (and wife Jacqueline), both of Gloucester. She was the cherished and endlessly proud grandmother to Cameron, Ryan, Devin, Madison, Jaelyn, and Jordan-her grandchildren were truly the light of her life. In addition to her husband and children, she leaves behind a loving sister, Christine Dennis (Gayton) of Danvers and her younger brother, Peter Gayton (and wife Roberta) of Gloucester, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved very much.

Linda was predeceased by her mother, Edith Gayton (Briand) and her father Albert Allan Gayton, as well as her nephew, Philip Dennis of Beverly, with whom she shared a unique bond. She is also predeceased by very special long-time neighbor and mother-like figure to the entire Conrad family, Marie "Nana-Re" Landry.

A celebration of Linda's life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Linda's name to "Friends of Seacoast", another charity of your choice, or – by simply performing an act of kindness in her memory-something she did every day.

In loving memory of a wonderful woman. One of the first people I met when I moved to Gloucester 20 years ago. She made me feel welcome, safe, and always gave me a laugh. Gone too soon, rest peacefully Linda.
