Fort Mill, SC – Linda Cooper Currence, 80, passed away on January 30, 2025. She was born on May 2, 1944 in Edgemoor, SC to the late A.C. Cooper and Jennie James Nunnery Cooper.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Meek Currence Sr, and her siblings; Donald, David, Whimpie, Gary, Woodrow, Dale, Gracie, Francis, and Ruth. Linda, known as Mamaw by family, left behind her children; James M Currence Jr with Autumn, Pressley Currence, and Rachel Helms with Donnie; her grandchildren: Jason Flowe with Season, Craig Flowe with Kelly, Cody Currence with Justin, Clayton Currence, Chasity Chapman, Hannah Currence, Alysha Currence with Paul, McKinsey Currence, James Austin Currence, Megan Hall with River, and Ceili Patrick with Nolan; and then her great-grandchildren: Jasper, Shelby, Baylor, Brighton, Hayden, Taylor, and Maddox and many nephews and nieces.
Linda was a well-known and active member of her church, Fort Mill Church of God, where she had a plethora of loving friends and family. She was a part of the Young at Heart group and very active with their missions, including donating and helping raise money for those in need. She loved Clemson football, and during football season could always be found wearing her Clemson Orange, and even sometimes would use the color when attending bingo nights with her closest friends Carol and Sheila. She loved her family, but especially fond of her grandkids and great-grandkids, who were a part of any conversation she had. She enjoyed reading, and loved to create, anything from artistic pieces to crocheting blankets. Angels were a consistent symbol of life for her, being her favorite, and she herself was a guide to many in her life.
