Linda DeVrieze, 76, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away January 6, 2026, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hampton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Linda was born on July 15, 1949, in Burlington, the daughter of John and Helen (Fox) Leffler. She married Randy DeVrieze at the Rock Island Memorial Christian Church on August 23, 1975. Linda graduated from West Burlington High School in 1967.
She worked various jobs throughout her life, but her favorite role was being a homemaker, helping raise her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their friends. Linda was a crossing guard in Colona and was instrumental in getting the school crosswalk installed on 84. She enjoyed playing marbles and cards, spending time with her family, and loved taking care of everyone.
Linda was a "bad-ass b" who was also an amazing cook and baker. She was known for her homemade pizza and chocolate chip cookies and for her quick wit.Survivors include her husband, Randy; children, Raymond (Jackie) Hughes and Adrien Scott (Tara) DeVrieze; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Gretchen Kate Kruse; and siblings, Sandra Sue Hill, Janice Joy Matlic, and John J. Leffler.
