Linda Marie Dowden was born December 3, 1947 in Lynchburg, Missouri to Charles S. and Vivian Breedlove Jones. She passed away in her Falcon, Missouri home on Monday, June 23, 2025. She was seventy-seven years, six months and twenty days of age.
Linda grew up in the Plato Community and graduated from Plato High School. On May 18, 1963, Linda was united in marriage to her husband and best friend, Clyde J. Dowden. They shared just over sixty-two years together and made many wonderful memories.
Linda attended Grace Calvary Church in Lebanon. She loved God and worshiping with her church family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Vivian Jones; one great-granddaughter, Ciera; two sisters, Sue Fisher and Brenda Miller; three brothers, Charles Jones, Jr., Floyd Jones and Larry Jones; her son-in-law, Don Rogers; and her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Dowden.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Clyde Dowden of Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, Tina Rogers and Teresa Daniel and her husband Brian, all of Lebanon, Missouri; her son, Tim Dowden of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Angela, Justin, Stephanie, Kassidy, A.J., Brandon and Lyly; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stephen Jones and Tom Campbell, both of Lebanon, Missouri; and her sister, Emily Hitchcock of Lebanon, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Linda lived most of her adult life in Falcon, Missouri where she and Clyde owned and operated a farm. Linda also was employed at H & R Block for twenty years and worked at an Auction Barn for fifteen years. She enjoyed going to yard sales, going to antique stores and auctions. When she was younger, she looked forward to going fishing and camping.
She loved her family so very much and was a big part of each one of their lives. They meant so much to her and she looked forward to the times they could be together.
Her warmth, kindness and unwavering generosity leave an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her. Her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends and the many people she touched throughout her life.
Service for Linda Dowden will be Friday, June 27, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, June 26 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
