Linda Sue Eaves, 77, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. She was born on August 25, 1948, the daughter of the late Hubert Hammons and the late Anne Fay Miller Hammons.
Throughout her life, Linda Sue demonstrated unwavering commitment to her family and community, shaping a life that centered around the people she cherished most—her children and grandchildren.
Linda Sue was a woman of many talents and interests. She proudly owned and operated Sue's Trophy Shop in Douglasville, where her hard work and entrepreneurial spirit made a lasting impression. Her career path included nine years at Sam's Club, a testament to her diligent nature and steadfast work ethic. Beyond her professional endeavors, Linda Sue found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing Bingo, exploring new places through travel and cruises, and expressing her creativity and care through cooking.
Her strong faith was a guiding force throughout her life, providing a foundation of strength and comfort that she drew upon in all circumstances. This faith, coupled with the deep love she had for her husband and companions, defined much of who she was. Linda Sue was not only a devoted wife but also a nurturing presence to those around her, making her home a welcoming haven filled with warmth and kindness.
Linda Sue will be remembered for her compassionate heart, tireless work ethic, and the joy she found in both family life and her personal passions. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched, especially those of her beloved children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Eaves who passed in 2010, grandson, Anthony Eaves-Miller; brother, Michael “June Bug” Hammons; sister, Helen Maner, and close companion for over 30 years, Leonard Holloway who passed in 2025.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Michael) Eaves-Miller of Douglasville, GA; sons, Danny (Tracy) Eaves of Temple, GA, Randy (Cindy) Eaves of Douglasville, GA, and Chad (Christina) Eaves of Powder Springs, GA; eleven grandchildren, Austin Eaves, Zachary (Danielle) Eaves, Trevor Eaves, Courtney (David) Cole, Jaclyn (Mac) Smith, Avery (Kayla) Eaves, Genesis Eaves, Brenna Eaves, Elijah Eaves, Kelsey Wood, and Jessica (Nick) Gaskin; six great grandchildren, Brooklyn Eaves, Brianna Cole, Elaine Cole, Evelyn Smith, Gunnar Gaskin and Evie Mae Richardson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.
She will lie in state on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Sweetwater Baptist Church, from 11:00 AM until the Funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM at Sweetwater Baptist Church, Douglasville, GA, with Dr. Darryl Jones officiating.
Interment will follow at Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery, Douglasville, GA.
The full measure of Linda Sue’s life can be seen in the love she shared and the lasting impact of her character. She leaves behind a quiet yet powerful legacy of dedication, love, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
