May 11, 1947 - July 29, 2022
Linda Monahan Ely, 75, of East Haven, passed away on July 29, 2022 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Loving mother of Joseph (Lynn) Ely of East Haven, Heather (Jason) Tashner of Yuma, AZ and Hugh (Heather) Ely Jr. of Middletown. Linda is also survived by six grandchildren. Sister of Patricia Porto of Meriden, Donna Perrelli of East Haven and the late Jean Monahan. Linda was born in New Haven on May 11, 1947 daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Prochowiz Monahan. Prior to her retirement, Linda was a cashier for Big Y.
Her funeral procession will leave the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, Friday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice at www.hospice.com .
