Linda A. Fernkas

Linda McBride Fernkas 78 passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Baptist Health Louisville. She was born in Middletown, KY to the late Charles and Sarah McBride. She was a graduate of Eastern High School, Class of 1965, an Officer of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Middletown Fire Department and a Catholic.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Fred McBride and grandmother, Ethel "Nanny" Griffith.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Fernkas; son, Andy Fernkas (Tara Watson); daughter, Sarah Fernkas; nephew, Ryon McBride (Bailee); niece, Kasey Walters (Austin); sister in laws, Beth Sullivan, Cathy Crawley, Peggy Luzar and Linda Ann McBride.
Linda was witty and fun and enjoyed bowling, travel, games of chance and loved rock and roll, music from the 50's, 60's, and 70's; especially, Elvis and Jimmy Buffet. She was the best mom ever, who left behind so many friends and family who loved her.
A Memorial Visitation will be 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Ratterman Brothers East Louisville "In Middletown", 12900 Shelbyville Rd 40243.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Ky Humane Society, your local animal shelter, or Crusade for Children.
