Linda Alberta Fisher born May 24, 1927, died at 95 on January 14, 2023. She was born in Grandfield, OK to Mabel Alberta Simms and Paul August Ille. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Jean McGrew Derrick, son-in-law, Bill Damon Derrick, three grandchildren Jamie Malone and husband Chris, Brooke Derrick and husband Dan McGlynn, and Casey Derrick Neuman and husband Patrick Neuman. Her 10 great grandchildren are Max Neuman, Kyle Neuman, Maya Malone, Harper Malone, Josie Malone, Sabina Malone, Desi Derrick McGlynn, Mattea Derrick McGlynn, Auden Derrick McGlynn and Nolan Derrick McGlynn. As a graduate of North Dallas High School in Dallas, Texas, Linda continued to keep up with their newsletters into her 90s. She was proud of the Bulldogs. Linda worked at Continental Insurance for more than 20 years and made great friends. She had fond memories and held pride in her work. Spending time in the yard and garden were among her favorite pastimes and she mowed her own yard well into her 80s. She was honored for her beautiful yard through the neighborhood association and played an active role in the community. Linda served as block captain and cared dearly for her neighbors and their community. Linda also loved to "watoosie" or dance. She met her husband, Chuck Fisher, at the "Over 30 Dances" where he played drums with big band music. Aside from her family, Linda's cats were her life. She loved and spoiled them to the point that some would say when they died they wanted to come back as one of her cats. All in all, Linda was a hard worker and took pride in what she had and accomplished. She put up a fight until the end. Her humorous and loving stories and sayings brought many giggles and fond memories to those around her. Linda "Granny Lulu" was loved and will be missed. Linda will be laid to rest January 31, 2023 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with her husband Charles (Chuck) K Fisher.
