Linda Joyce Fleming, 76, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away at home with her family on March 5, 2026.
Linda was born in Frostburg, Maryland, and was the youngest of the nine children of James F. DeVault and Ida (Bettinger) DeVault.
Beloved mother of Lisa (Andrew) Brock and Ryan Fleming. Devoted and proud grandmother (Grammina) of Callum and Anderson Brock. Dear sister of Gary DeVault, Lottie Greene, Phillis Spence, and preceded in death by siblings James DeVault, Ray DeVault, Wes DeVault, Vera Girtman and Ed "Sterley" DeVault.
Linda lived a life serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was kind, loving and full of joy. She loved to celebrate life and made every holiday special. She was as creative as she was a hard worker. Throughout her life, she was deeply involved in her church community and faithfully served as a pastor’s wife for more than 20 years, where she was the director of the junior choir, sang in adult choirs, served on leadership committees, made visitations, helped to prepare church meals, and played a vital role in the church families at Rummel Church of the Brethren in Windber, Penn. and later at New Covenant Church of the Brethren in Powel, Ohio.
In addition to her work at the churches, Linda began her career in public relations at the Church of the Brethren Home in Windber, Penn. in the early 1980’s. After the family moved to Columbus, Ohio, she had a successful career in the life insurance business for more than 20 years, working for Ohio State Life and Grange Insurance. Linda retired in 2014 and moved to Manchester, New Hampshire, to be closer to her grandchildren.
She found her greatest joy in time spent with her friends and family. She eagerly attended church services, concerts and performances, hockey games, and more. She was the heart and center of family celebrations. Her playfulness, sense of humor and unconditional love for her family will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local church and as Linda inspired us to do - spread Christ’s love and light to all you meet.
