Linda Gail Floyd, age 78, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at her residence. Linda was born on May 1, 1947, in Blackshear, Georgia to the late Lee and Ollie Godwin. Linda dedicated her life to education, earning a Specialist Degree and making a profound impact as a beloved teacher within the Thomas County School System.
A devoted member of the Dawson Street Baptist Church, Linda’s faith and love for the Lord were central to her life. Her unwavering commitment to her family and her community will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her children, David Floyd (Penny) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Amanda Morey of Thomasville; her grandchildren, Anna Higginbotham (Trent), Christopher Floyd, Ethan Floyd, Jordan Morey, Jaime Floyd (Damion Walker), Carrie Floyd, and Joshua Morey; and her brother, Lee Godwin, Jr. of Thomasville. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14th at 2:00 PM at Dawson Street Baptist Church. A visitation will take place an hour before the service at 1:00 PM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband Bill Floyd and son-in-law Brett Morey.
