Linda Sue Dodrill Fraley

April 21, 1950 – October 5, 2025

Linda Sue Dodrill Fraley, 75, of Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Sanger Heart Institute in Charlotte, NC.

Born in Richwood, West Virginia, on April 21, 1950, Linda was the daughter of the late Elsie Doreen Morrison and Howard Bertram Dodrill. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Lee Fraley.

Linda graduated from Richwood High School and built a long and fulfilling career with Walmart, where she served as a department manager for 23 years before retiring at age 65. After retirement, she continued to give her time and heart to others-volunteering with FeedNC and serving as a friendly greeter at Freedom House Church.

Faith was at the center of Linda's life. She was a devoted Christian whose kindness, joy, and warmth touched everyone she met. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness. Linda also enjoyed reading, attending live music events, and finding simple joy in everyday moments.

Linda is survived by her children, Tamara Yvonne Mullens of Mooresville and Brandy Leigh Pappas (Ted Pappas) of Waxhaw; her stepdaughter, Deonna Lynn Schneider of Gassaway, WV; her brother, Danny Dodrill of Richwood, WV; and her sister, Rosie Spencer Coen of Concord, NC.

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Timothy Charles Hinkle (Stephanie Ann Hinkle) of Clemmons, NC; Farrah Nicole Evans (Kyle Davis Evans) of Charlotte, NC; Cameron Chase Fraley (Brianna Alexis Fraley) of Parker, CO; Maddie Sue Lanney of Waxhaw, NC; Lila Raleigh Pappas of Waxhaw, Steffen Lee Schneider of Gassaway, WV; and by her great-grandchildren, Charlize Nicole Hinkle and Hendrix Wayne Hinkle.

Linda's faith, friendship, and love for her family will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Freedom House Church – Lake Norman Campus. Visitation with the family will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial message from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m.

What can I say about Linda, she was one of a kind and as for me, I will miss her greatly! She always made me laugh when she´d sit down in my chair and say " I have a picture " or "did Gary send you the picture yet?" Before I could cut her hair. Rest in the peace of Gods loving arms dear Linda!! I love you!

Mrs. Fraley was one of those rare women whose beauty stopped you in your tracks, but it was her heart, humor, and quiet strength that stayed with you. She was more than beautiful, she was wise. Some might say she was a little high maintenance, but I think it´s simply wise to know your worth and to never accept less than you deserve. Mrs. Fraley knew who she was, and she carried herself with elegance, warmth, and purpose.

Her beauty will live on through her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all of whom she loved with every bit of her heart. And I know she´s now reunited with her beloved Gary, as sweet as he was devoted, together again where they belong.

Her beauty and elegance live on, a reflection of the monumental matriarch who began a family of strong, kind, and remarkable women and men.
