Linda C. (Klunk) Freed, 73, of York, passed away tragically on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Terrence L. Freed.

Born on July 23, 1951, in York, she was the daughter of the late Leon J. and S. Pauline (Wolfe) Klunk. A lifelong resident of York, Linda was a graduate of York Catholic High School.

Throughout her life, Linda held various roles in local elementary schools and banks, most recently finding joy and fulfillment as a teacher's aide at Weigelstown Elementary School. She had a kind and generous spirit and was known for her deep love of animals-she often joked she would adopt every shelter pet if she could. An avid gardener, she also loved camping and traveling, always eager for a new adventure or peaceful escape in nature.

Above all, Linda was a dedicated and loving family woman. She was a devoted wife, a proud and supportive mother, and a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished family gatherings and never missed a chance to spend time with her loved ones. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband, Terrence, Linda is survived by her three sons: Richard E. Englar of Hellam; Michael L. Englar and his significant other, Licia Lehman, of York; and Steven A. Englar and his wife, Melissa, of York. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Nathan Englar and his wife, Elaine Luu, of York; Sarah Englar of York; Emily Bircher and her husband, Quinn, of Linglestown; Joseph Englar of York; and Alex Lehman of York; as well as two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, David Klunk of Red Lion and Ronald Klunk of York.

In accordance with Linda's wishes, there will be no public viewing or services. Following cremation, the family will hold a private burial at Dallastown Union Cemetery in Dallastown, PA. The family has entrusted the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home with her arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linda's memory to the Brougher Companion Animal Shelter – York County SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
