Linda Sue Fussman, aged 72, of Weidman, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, just a few days shy of her 73rd birthday. Linda passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished.
Born on June 2, 1952, in Weidman, Michigan, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Mitchell and Jean (Showalter) McArthur. A 1970 graduate of Chippewa Hills High School, she went on to work for Farm Bureau Insurance for 10 years. She later served the Beal City Elementary School community for 26 years as a dedicated secretary, retiring in June 2015. Her presence in the school was more than administrative, she was a trusted friend, a cheerful spirit, and a source of support for generations of students, teachers, and families.
On July 19, 1975, Linda married the love of her life, Steve Fussman, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and family, a life filled with laughter, companionship, and shared purpose.
As a faithful member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Linda drew strength and comfort from both her faith and her parish community. She found great joy in life's simple pleasures, spending time with her beloved dog Carly, cheering on her children and grandchildren at countless sporting events, attending exercise boot camps, tending to her garden, and laughing with loved ones over lively games of Left, Right, Center.
Linda was the loving wife of Steve and proud mother of four sons: Bryce (Mary) Fussman of Beal City, Andy (Austen) Fussman of Mt. Pleasant, Nick (Rachel) Fussman of Mt. Pleasant, and Chris (Erika) Fussman of Traverse City. Her love multiplied as she welcomed her fifteen grandchildren: Mitchell, Chloe, Jack, Alexis, Paxton, Griffin, Jettson, Tessa, Haven, Spencer, Natalie, Ben, Logan, Hazel, and Hudson, each one a treasured light in her life.
Linda's love extended warmly to her siblings and in-laws. She is survived by her brother Doug (Donna) McArthur of Weidman, and by her cherished extended family: Larry (Kathy) Fussman of Mt. Pleasant, Mike (Marian) Fussman of Alma, George (Terri) Fussman of Mt. Pleasant, Mary (Mike) Wanagat of Sandusky, OH, Sheila (Sim) Wernette of Mt. Pleasant, Peggy Fussman of Grand Rapids, and Janet Fussman of Mt. Pleasant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Mitchell McArthur; brother, Gary McArthur; parents in-law, Joseph and Ida Fussman; and brothers in-law, Tom Fussman, Bill Fussman, Pat Fussman, and Jack Fussman. Their memory, like hers, lives on in the hearts of all who loved them.
Linda's life was one of quiet strength, selfless care, and enduring love. Her warmth will be missed beyond measure, but her spirit remains alive in the lives she touched.
A Funeral Mass for Linda will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 2, at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church on her 73rd birthday. Father Andrew LaFramboise will preside and Father Thomas J. McNamara will be the homilist. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph The Worker Cemetery followed by a dinner at Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. Linda's family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. with a Vigil and time for sharing beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday one hour before Mass.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker School, Careline Hospice, or HATS (Humane Animal Treatment Society). Envelopes will be available at the church and funeral home. Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
