Linda Gieseler Obituary
A lifelong area resident, Linda was a 1962 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Linda was a dedicated worker, who worked hard all of her life at many local companies including Coleco, Hasbro, and lastly, Amsterdam Print.
On February 7, 1981 she was married to Charles Gieseler. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage together.
Linda loved going to fair, listening to country music, especially Skeeter Creek and was always up for an adventure. She took great care of her home and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by two children, Thomas Porath Jr. and Melissa Porath; two siblings, Harry Meyer and Albert "Bucky" Meyer.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck; two children, Gregory Porath and his wife Amanda, Kimberly Brown and her husband Chris; one sister, Arlene Ogden; five grandchildren, Thomas, Alyssa, Steven, Ryan and James; three great grandchildren, Maeva, Armani and Ashton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 1p.m. at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited any may call Monday morning from 11a.m. until 1p.m. at the funeral home. Please visit the online memorial at www.roseandhughesfh.com
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
