Linda Suzanne (Heideman) McClain was born April 11, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Donald W. and Shirley M. (Nass) Heideman Graham. She attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary and Columbus High School. She married Jerry McClain on December 31, 1978; they later divorced. Linda was a childcare provider for many years in her home. She enjoyed bowling, jeep off-roading, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and her grandkids sports. Linda was an Elvis fan and loved her Yorkie dogs and Canaries. Most of all, she loved spending lots of time with her family and grandchildren.
Linda passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at her home, at the age of 75. She is preceded in death by her parents; great-aunt Lillian “Bummy” Seliger and son, Jeremy Thompson. Linda is survived by son, Mike (Jennifer Vaughn) Heideman of Waterloo; daughter, Andrea (Steve) Schroeder of Waterloo; daughter-in-law, Heather Thompson of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren, Alexander, Jacob, Alyssa, Aydin, Augustine, Bryanna, Dylan, Braylon, Rylan and Haisley; three great-grandchildren, Axtin, Aisen and Aurora; sister, Leslie (Bill) Milne of Scottsdale; brother, Jeffrey Heideman of Waterloo niece, Emma and nephew, Jonathan.
Memorials may be directed to the Family or the American Heart Association.
Memorial Visitation: Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.
Celebration of Life: Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories.
