Obituary published on Legacy.com by John N. Santeiu & Son, Inc. - Garden City on Dec. 13, 2025.
Linda Picchi Height, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, service, and unwavering strength.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Robert Height; her sisters Michele (late William) Babcock, Denise (Gary) Gerisch, and Lisa (Robert) Kujawa; her daughters Kathryn (Aaron) Peacock and Alexandra (Lee) Bunting; and her stepson Robert (Ginny) Height. She was the proud grandmother of Everett, Eleanor, Amelia, and Mara Peacock, and Julia Height, each of whom brought immense joy into her life. She treasured her role as aunt to her nephews Robert (Sommer) Kujawa, Michael Gerisch and Scott Kujawa. She is also survived by a multitude of cousins, with whom she shared lifelong bonds, countless memories, and the enduring love of family.
Born and raised in Detroit to Alda and Louis Picchi, Linda grew up in a warm and traditional Italian family, surrounded by the love, food, laughter, and closeness that shaped her generous heart. She cherished her roots and carried her family's values of loyalty, faith, and hard work throughout her life.
Linda attended St. Suzanne's School and later Rosary High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed the discipline, confidence, and determination that would guide her through every chapter of her life.
She proudly served her country in the United States Army Reserves achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant, an experience that strengthened her resilience and commitment to others. Her expertise greatly contributed to the warfighting capabilities of her unit all the way through General level leadership.
Her professional career was marked by exceptional dedication and leadership. Linda served as Vice President for Finance and Administration at Lawrence Technological University, and was a steadfast, compassionate steward of the University's growth and financial well-being for more than two decades. Beyond her transformative leadership at LTU, she served her community with distinction as Board Chair of Michigan First Credit Union, a member of the executive committee of the Southfield Chamber of Commerce, and a dedicated contributor to the Southfield City Centre Advisory Board. Linda was deeply committed to LTU's students-always keeping their success, opportunity, and access at the heart of every decision-and touched countless lives with her unwavering belief in their potential. Her career and service were widely recognized, including the honor bestowed by Crain's Detroit Business, which named her a Notable Woman in Finance-a fitting tribute to a leader whose integrity, generosity, and humanity left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed by the faculty, staff, and students of LTU, and her work will leave a lasting legacy that strengthens and elevates the institution for generations to come.
Linda will be remembered for her sharp wit, generous spirit, and the steadfast love she extended to all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she leaves behind a beautiful legacy of service, leadership, and compassion.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
