Linda Hodgson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Helgeson Funeral Home - Warroad on Sep. 23, 2024.
Linda Louise Hanson was born on August 6, 1943 in Warroad. Minnesota to Carroll and Lucille (Huerd) Hanson and was the second child of seven girls. She spent her childhood in Warroad where she graduated from high school. Linda met and married her high school sweetheart, Percy Hodgson on December 9, 1961 and they lived in Warroad until 1963. They decided to move to the Cities to give it a try. They lived there until 1976, when they packed everything up and moved back to Warroad with their four children. They moved back to Linda's childhood home and remodeled it. Linda discovered she really enjoyed sewing and started making outfits for all of her children. She became a gifted seamstress. Word got out and over the years, she made dozens and dozens of wedding gowns, bridesmaid gowns, and formals. It seemed like her talents were endless!
She was a fabulous cook, gardener, and singer. She was the best mother and an even better grandmother. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved traveling and did that as much as possible. In 1977, she got very sick and was diagnosed at the Mayo Clinic with a stone in a duct leading to her pancreas. Since that time, she has been battling pancreatitis. Through all of that, she lived a full and wonderful life, making great memories with her family and friends.
Linda passed away on September 20,2024 with her family surrounding her with love. She was 81 years old. We feel so blessed to have the time we did with this very special woman Linda is survived by her loving husband Percy Hodgson; four children, Maureen (Chris) Draper of Baker City. OR, Shawn (Carly) Hodgson of Warroad MN, Peter (Patti) Hodgson of Warroad, Thomas Hodgson of Warroad; four sisters; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and her beloved granddaughter, Karli Hodgson.
