Linda Hurst Obituary

Linda was born November 28, 1954 in Loudoun, VA; daughter of the late Claude Franklin Simpson and Betty Jane Barcley John. She worked as a CNA at Westminster Canterbury. Linda was a member of the Golden Agers at First Baptist Church of Inwood, WV. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Linda married John "Jack" William Hurst, Jr., April 30, 1983 in Chambersburg, PA.
Along with her husband she is survived by her sons, Edgar Wayne Leberknight, Jr. (Mona) of Martinsburg and Jamie Lynn Leberknight of Winchester WV; daughter, Jacqueline M. Hurst (Mike) of Highview, WV and four grandchildren, Omar Moore, Kelby Leberknight, Tristen Leberknight and Mason Leberknight.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Claude Franklin Simpson, Jr. and David Lynn Simpson and her sister, Hazel Mae Hurst.
A funeral service will be held 11:30 pm at First Baptist Church in Inwood, WV on Thursday, October 2, 2025 with Pastor Devin Ward officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 10:30 – 11:30 pm at First Baptist Church. Burial will be private at a later date in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
