Linda Lou Keller went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Linda was born on February 17, 1940, to Charles W. and Ethel I. (Carra) Pocock in Lyons, Kansas. The family moved to Emporia when she was 7 years old.
She attended Emporia schools after the move. She would later take classes at the College of Emporia.
On January 31, 1960, she was united in marriage to Charles G. Keller. They had two daughters: Angela M. Keller of Norman, Oklahoma, and Freda K. Keller of Houston, Texas. They divorced in 1989.
The family moved many times throughout the years, and Linda made many friends along the way in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Linda, an avid artist, worked in multiple media including watercolor, pastel, oil, and acrylic painting. She sewed most of her daughters’ clothes as they grew up. As she grew older, she fell in love with quilting. For several years, she made quilts of valor for local veterans in Lyon County, Kansas. As a member of the local quilters guild, she enjoyed decorating her table for the yearly fundraiser in April.
Linda was a homemaker first and foremost, but over the years she held several positions to support her family after the divorce, again making many friends along the way. She enjoyed working at the Lyon County Historical Society, and as an avid history buff she truly loved learning and sharing about the history of Lyon County.
In 2004, Linda relocated and retired to Emporia, Kansas, to take care of her mother, who passed in 2006. She remained in Emporia ever since.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Angela M. Keller and Freda K. Keller; her cousin Mary Catherine Bookter; her cousin Linda (David) Nesbitt; and her sister, Carmen A. Pocock.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles W. Pocock; her mother, Ethel I. (Carra) Pocock; her brother, Charles W. Pocock Jr.; her infant sister, Ann Nell Pocock; and her ex-husband, Charles G. Keller.
