Linda L. Marchinek, 77, of Marshfield, died Monday, October 28, 2024 at North Shore Health Care in Marshfield, with her family by her side and while under the care of Heartland Hospice.
She was born April 4, 1947 in Medford to Alfred and Lucille (Pokallus) Zugier.
Linda worked at Marathon Cheese for many years, then drove pilot cars for oversized loads, and worked for Figgy's during many holiday seasons.
Linda loved crafts of all kinds, including making her own greeting cards, quilting, and puzzles. She was an avid collector of elephants and was the "Garage Sale Queen." She enjoyed going to garage sales and having them herself.
A woman of great faith, she was an active, devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Spencer. She enjoyed attending bible studies and volunteering for whatever was needed. She enjoyed listening to Christian music and loved when her granddaughters would sing hymns with her.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Betty (Terry) Holbach of Medford; siblings, Connie (Junior) Miller of Medford, Donna (Joe) Arvelo of Marshfield, Peggy (Mike) Radakovich of Milwaukee, Roger (Mary) Zugier of Mondovi; sister-in-law, Eleanor "Nonie" Zugier of Boyd; two beloved granddaughters, Erin (Thomas) Danen of Medford, Jessica (Brandon) Meier of Marshfield; and four precious great-grandchildren, MaKenna, Autumn, Nora and Henry; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter Marchinek, and a brother, Richie Zugier.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2024 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 210167 State Hwy 13, in Spencer with Rev. Jeff Siegel officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Coloma, Wisconsin.
A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 9 at the church in Spencer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated and may go to St. John's Lutheran Church of Spencer.
