Linda Ruth Compton Martin 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will forever be cherished.

She was the devoted wife of Calvin, whom she loved unconditionally throughout their many years together. It brings everyone that knew Linda, peace and comfort to know that she is safely back in the arms of her loving husband . A proud and loving mother, she raised three daughters- Debbie Wiley, Donna Conner, and Sheryl Carson and was the adored grandmother to many grandchildren who knew her as the heart of the family.

Known for her warm hospitality, she kept her refrigerator stocked with ice-cold Cokes and her snack drawer filled with candy bars, ensuring that every visit from her grandchildren was sprinkled with sweetness. She loved to make people smile, whether by pulling a clever trick, telling a funny story, or just bringing joy to everyday moments.

A woman of deep faith, she attended Concord Baptist Church in Cleremont, Georgia, where she faithfully went to her Sunday school class, as it was the highlight of her week. She also enjoyed an active life-golfing, bowling, and, of course, shopping and getting her hair done were among her favorite pastimes.

She will be remembered not only for her humor and playful spirit but also for the warmth, generosity, and unconditional love she poured into every relationship.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

Born on October 22, 1939, Linda was the daughter of Joseph Shelton Compton and Lucy Mae Hunt. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Calvin of 65 years. She was also proceeded in death by her parents, her siblings Joe Compton, Rita Lawson, and George Compton .

Linda is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Tommy and Debbie Wiley, Rick and Donna Conner, and Scott and Sheryl Carson and her sisters Margaret Smith and Vivian Gravitt. Known affectionately as "Nana" Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom in her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will cherish her memory always.

Grandchildren Ryan Conner, Jessica Conner Smith, Stephanie Conner Clark, Zach Estes, Martin Estes, Tyler Wiley, Courtney Wiley Thigpen , Ansley Chester, Jake Chester, and Calvin J. Chester
