Anita Daniel Martin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anita Darlene Daniel Martin, age 68, of Collinwood, TN, who passed away peacefully at her home on August 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on February 28, 1957, in Waynesboro, TN, she was the daughter of the late Bobby Ray and Nancy Ivadean Holt Daniel. Anita's life was a testament to love and commitment; she was united in marriage to Charles Richard Martin in July 1975, a partnership that flourished through the years. A member of the Butler Grove Freewill Baptist Church, her faith guided her throughout her life.
Anita dedicated many years to serving as a secretary at the Courthouse in Waynesboro, TN. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to Wallace State in Hanceville, AL, where she earned her degree in sleep studies. With passion and dedication, she became a PSGT at Sleep Ease, paving the way as the first to conduct sleep studies as a Sleep Tech in Columbia, TN.
In her spare time, Anita found joy in riding motorcycles alongside her husband, indulging in her love for game shows, relishing moments on the beach and river, and expressing her creativity through floral arrangements and wreath-making. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Anita's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, as we remember her life filled with kindness, passion, and devotion to family and friends alike. She was truly a remarkable woman who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles Richard Martin of Collinwood, TN; daughter, Crystal Paige Martin Holt and husband Kurt of Collinwood, TN; son, Christopher Richard Martin and fiance LeighAnn Karcher of Collinwood, TN; sister, Sabrina Daniel Mauldon and husband Chris of Iron City, TN; brothers, Michael Ray Daniel and wife Sybil of Murfreesboro, TN, and Edwin Jay Daniel of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Kurtlyn Danielle Holt, Brody Allen Holt, Kayden James Martin, Carolina Anet Martin; step grandchildren, Ryan Michael Karcher, and Kaleb Scott Karcher; special caretakers, Linda Ray and Debra Reeves; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Ray and Nancy Ivadean Holt Daniel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Brant Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN.
Pallbearers will be Trentin Daniel, Brody Holt, Kayden Martin, Kaleb Karcher, Ryan Karcher, and Evan Daniel.
