Obituary of Linda M. Massaro
Linda M. Massaro, a longtime Madison resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 64.
Linda is survived by her long-time love and partner, Tony DeCaro; her beloved parents, Martin and Elaine Schweighardt; two sisters, Joann Sadighi and Patty Jackson (Brian); her cherished stepchildren, Dan DeCaro, Tony DeCaro, Jr., and Joelle DeCaro; two nieces Sammi (Joe) and Stephanie, and two nephews Augie (Brooke) and Cory (Shannon), as well as many dear friends. She was everyone's "Aunt Linda".
She was preceded in death by her dear brother, Marty Schweighardt.
Linda was born on January 16, 1959, and grew up in West Orange, where she graduated from Our Lady of the Valley High School. She has resided in Madison for over 30 years and was a friendly fixture at the local QuickChek where she took great pride in taking care of her customers.
Linda was a social butterfly and loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed tanning, hanging out by the pool, flowers, shopping, and cooking for loved ones. Her family fondly remembers her Sunday macaroni, meatloaf, sausage and peppers, and of course, her famous deviled eggs. She was a fan of Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Chase Elliot, and the Buffalo Bills football team. Linda was also a proud member of the Elks Lodge in Madison.
Her family will forever miss her vibrant spirit and warm smile, but they take comfort in knowing she is at peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation for Linda on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison. Those who wish may attend the mass virtually by visiting .
