Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Sills Henry Maxie will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, August 13, 2025, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Cliburn Cemetery. The Reverend Joe Hanna will officiate. Mrs. Maxie, age 80, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
Mrs. Maxie will be carried to her final resting place by those honored to serve as pallbearers, including Wesley Lambert, Sam Curtis, A.J. Williamson, Brandon Henry, Maddox Williamson, and J.T. Henry. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Richard Anderson, Anthony Henry, Chad Crist, Steven Maxie, and George Maxie.
Linda was born on May 7, 1945, in Silver Creek, Mississippi to James Henry and Dezzie Herrington Sills. Raised in the New Hebron Community, she also graduated from New Hebron High School. Linda worked as a seamstress for many years at several garment factories in this area. She also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Lawrence County Nursing Center. Her family remarks that she enjoyed reading, and was especially fond of Western movies, especially those featuring John Wayne, and she also loved songs and movies featuring Elvis Presley. In addition, she was gifted in quilting and caring for her house plants. Linda loved her family very much and delighted in making each one their own favorite cake on their birthday. Linda was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her brothers, James Sills, James Randall, and her sons-in-law, Mark Lambert and Yancey Cliburn.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Vicki Anderson, Cindy Lambert; sons, James Henry, Shannon Maxie (Dehna); 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 expected great-grandson.
