Linda Mazza, 74, a beloved mom and Nanie, passed away peacefully surrounded by her three daughters on November 13, 2025 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born December 14, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Linda grew up in Norwalk, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Raedene Berriman. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1968. She worked for an insurance company briefly before she met and married the love of her life, Pete Mazza.
Linda dedicated her life to making a warm and loving home for her husband of 44 years and their three daughters. Linda felt right at home with the Italian family she became surrounded by, filling each holiday, birthday celebration and Sunday dinner with even more laughter, love and food. She quickly became an excellent cook, famous for her chocolate brownies, homemade pizza and cherry dessert. She looked forward to summer vacations to Okoboji and Branson but her favorites were the trips with her girls to Graceland and LA for the Price is Right. She passionately cheered for the Iowa State Cyclones and the Kansas City Chiefs and everyone knew not to bother her when either team was playing.
Linda will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity and the endless love she poured into her family. Her legacy lives on in her daughters, family traditions and the many lives she touched along the way. Her greatest joy was being a Nanie. She never missed a recital, sporting event or big moment, always showing up with pride and love that her grandchildren will remember forever.
Linda will be dearly missed by her daughters, Erica Mazza-Morgan (Shawn), Jennifer (Jamie) Snyder, Darci (George) Signs; her grandchildren Tina Signs, Anthony Gardner, George Signs, Domenic Gardner, Pete Signs, Ava Signs and Charlotte Snyder; sister Marsha (Bob) Griffin, Brian Gardner, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, PD, whom she loved dearly.
A visitation will be held at Iles Dunn's Chapel on Monday November 17, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary service beginning at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday November 18, 2025 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
