Linda Carol McAnulty, 78, of O'Fallon, IL, born on June 7, 1947, passed away on June 22, 2025, at her home.
Linda was born in Kansas City, MO but was raised in Oxnard, CA. She graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School in Camarillo, CA. At the age of 19, Linda moved to Holden, MO. In 1973, she moved to O'Fallon, IL, where she raised her children and where she continued to live until her passing.
After raising her four children, Linda completed her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse at age 56, where she began dedicating her life to patients. From 2003-2004, she worked in the medical surgical unit at Memorial Hospital Belleville. Starting in 2004, Linda then worked at Cedar Ridge Rehabilitation in Lebanon, IL. She then had moved to working at Revela at O'Fallon Assisted Living in 2022.
In her spare time, Linda liked to crochet afghan blankets, playing Mahjong on her tablet, watch her favorite shows such as Yellowstone and Amazing Race, and play board games with her grandkids. She loved to have game nights during the holidays, especially playing Doodle Dice and every version of Monopoly possible. Talking to her dear sister, Esther, was another favorite pastime of Linda's. Whether it was long chats on the phone or sitting around the table, the two could talk and laugh with each other for hours.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She insisted that she always have a steady supply of new photos of her grandkids and great grandkids for her to hold onto. Linda was considered the heart of her family, always close by whenever her family needed her. She offered unwavering support, advice, and wisdom.
Linda dedicated her life to caring for her children and later dedicated herself to caring for patients. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Hillyer, and her beloved dog, Spunky.
Linda is survived by her four children, Jim (Nicole) McAnulty of Belleville, IL, Kimberly Thornton, nee McAnulty, of Shiloh, IL, Brian (Lynette) McAnulty of Swansea, IL, and Shannon (Tom) Bequette of O'Fallon, IL; siblings, Esther Driskell, nee Hope, David Lee Hope, Vickie Lyn Kennedy, nee Holbrook, and Ricky Lee Holbrook; eight grandchildren, Taylor (Josh) Frisbee, Jordan McAnulty, Madison (Elijah) Rosenberg, Samuel McAnulty, Camryn McAnulty, Cody Bequette, Conner Bequette, and Caylee Bequette; three great grandchildren, Autumn McAnulty, Grayson Frisbee, and Beau Frisbee
