Linda Lee Meehan, 73, of Tower City, formerly of Williamstown, passed away Tuesday evening November 18, 2025 at the home of Paul and Anne Marie Dimon with whom she resided, after a long 6 year diagnosis with cancer.

Linda was born in Pottsville, Friday, July 18, 1952, a daughter of the late Leroy Sr. and Charity Krise Witmer.

Linda's life was anything but easy. She would rise early every morning walking throughout Williamstown delivering the Patriot News. She then would work an 8 hour day at Bestock Garment Factory, coming home only to deliver the Pottsville Republican in the evenings. On a Tuesday she would also deliver the Merchandiser. This went on for decades without complaint. When the garment factory closed, she worked for several years at the poultry plant in Fredericksburg.

She spent the last years of her life confined to a bed, but that never slowed her down. She would knit and crochet every single day from dawn to dusk. She made countless afghans, booties, scarves, and anything else that could be made out of "wool". She enjoyed giving her finished projects to anyone that would visit her. She looked forward to her Tuesday's with Wendy Miller who always "hooked" her up with snacks and friendship.

If you attended a funeral service at Dimon Funeral Home, you can be guaranteed the memorial folder you were handed was folded by Linda. She took this task very seriously, making sure every edge was folded perfectly. She enjoyed receiving homemade cards and mail that she would proudly hang on her walls. Thank you for all of those who thought of her.

Linda loved any and all animals, having dozens throughout her life. Big, little, wild, or tame, her heart was filled with love for all animals. Her cat Calico brought her much joy in life, and she was her constant companion for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Meehan; her daughter Amy Meehan; brothers, Leroy "Skip" Witmer Jr., Larry Witmer and Lamont Witmer.

Linda is survived by her caregivers who became her family, Paul, Anne Marie, Jared and Spencer Dimon.

We would like to thank Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, who took exceptional care of Linda for almost six years. To her aide Tina Fetter who has been with Linda since day one, we cannot express how grateful we are for the care and friendship you showed to Linda. To her nurses, Bill, Missy, Tammy and Amanda, you were so much more than nurses to Linda, and we will forever be thankful for the love you gave her. To her social worker Pam, you were the best knitting buddy she could ask for, and Linda always lit up when you came to visit. To Chaplain Matt, thank you for giving Linda her faith and getting her to accept God into her life. To Dr. Olender, thank you for never giving up on Linda. We are forever grateful to you for making one last trip to see her on Tuesday. To the dozens of aides and nurses who got to know Linda these past years, you all made her life worth living.

Following Linda's wishes, she will be laid to rest privately in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda's memory can be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or by showing an act of kindness to someone in need.
