Linda Meyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home - Napoleon on Jan. 27, 2026.
On January 26, 2026, Linda Lee "Brubaker" Meyer-66 years young, born on September 26, 1959 - surrounded by all five of her children, peacefully left her earthly body and went home to rejoice with the Lord. We are certain she is now holding all the babies, singing and dancing, cracking jokes, being a little ornery, and finally enjoying a well-deserved margarita or glass of wine with her friends while she's at it.

Linda was a longtime resident of Deshler, Ohio, where she lived out her dream of raising her five children in the home she and her husband built with immense thought, love, and dedication. Over the final six months of her life, she resided in Bowling Green, Ohio, at Brookdale Senior Living Memory Care, where her long and courageous battle with dementia ultimately came to an end. Linda was a graduate of both Patrick Henry High School in Hamler, Ohio and of Toledo University.

Though Linda's earthly life spanned 66 years, and more than a decade was impacted by dementia, she lived an incredibly full, meaningful, and purpose-driven life, leaving behind a legacy that will continue for generations. Her greatest accomplishment and deepest pride was being a mother. Known lovingly as "Momma Linda" to many, and "Brubaker" to others, she never allowed a child in her path to go hungry, feel left out, lack a ride, or even go without a shower if they needed one. Her doors were always unlocked, her pantry always full, and everyone was welcome.

Together, Linda and her husband ran a trucking company for 45 years, employing each of their children at some point along the way to instill a strong work ethic. They also operated a family farm and ensured their children had every opportunity to participate in any extracurricular activity their hearts desired. Linda was intentional about exposing her children to the world; traveling, learning, and gaining direction, while making it her number one priority to teach them about God and, most importantly, how to love. She taught and did this all so effortlessly.

Linda had a gift for making an impact on anyone who crossed her path. She rarely missed an opportunity to talk about her faith and was truly a mother to all. One of her lifelong dreams was to go on a mission trip, which she proudly fulfilled. As her children grew older, she often spoke with excitement about becoming a grandmother. God, knowing her heart for family and her love of togetherness, blessed her abundantly with 17 grandchildren, and one more on the way.

She soon earned another cherished title: "Grandma LuLu." Her grandchildren were central to her daily life, and each adored her deeply. Visits to Grandma were met with pure excitement, because of the immense love they felt from her, and because she rarely gave a hug without a playful tickle.

To know Linda was to love Linda.

Linda survived by her mother Myrna "Dolly" Brubaker, brother Jeff (Liz) Brubaker, children Shane (Michelle) Meyer, Sheena (Geoff) Schwiebert, Seth (Abby) Meyer, Saige (Melanie) Meyer and Shannon (Ben) George, and husband Doug Meyer, all who remain local in Henry County, Ohio. Her grandchildren are Easton, Kase and Sadie Meyer, Daxton, Lawson, Witton and Kipton Schwiebert, Tate, Tessa and Baby On The Way Meyer, Trey, Knox, Pierce and Blake Meyer and Giavanna, Magnolia, Dominic and Tallulah George. She was preceded in death by her father George Brubaker.

Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Crossroads Church, 601 Bonaparte Drive, Napoleon, on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM with an hour of visitation prior to services. I'm shocked that Linda - the beautiful, sweet little girl and cousin that I remember is gone!
My heart is with Aunt Dolly, Cousin Jeff, and Linda's family.
I will always remember the good times with Linda. Especially, the Thanksgiving holidays that we had.

Love always, Bobby Van Newhouse
