Linda Jean Middlemist, passed away at the age of 91 on September 16, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 6, 1934, to the late Theodore Francis Ensign and Mabel Anita Goodman Ensign, Linda brought light and love into the lives of all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her brother John Ensign, and her great-great-grand daughter Chandler Rose Kirkpatrick.

Linda's life was a testament to love and commitment. She married the love of her life, Peter Sargeant Middlemist on June 12, 1955, in Denver, Colorado. Together, they built a home in Conejos County, where they welcomed friends and family with open arms. Peter will continue to cherish her memory and the life they created together.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Linda is lovingly remembered by her children: Mark (Jan) Middlemist of Wichita, KS, Marsha (Ronald) Cash of Alamosa, CO, and Robert (Krista) Middlemist of Alamosa, CO. Her legacy continues through the laughter and adventures of her 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. Linda's love extended to her sister, Mary Cartwright of Louisville, CO, and the many nieces and nephews whom she held dear.

A creative soul, Linda's passions reached far and wide. An avid football fan, she cheered passionately for the Denver Broncos and CU Buffs. Linda's dexterous fingers were often busy with quilting, arts and crafts, and she created beautiful paintings that reflected her gentle spirit. Her love for bowling, reading, playing cards and crossword puzzles added a spark of joy to her days, and she tended her flowers and tomatoes with the same gentle care she provided to her family.

Those who knew Linda will remember her as a gentle and loving presence, a woman whose creativity shone brightly in everything she did. Her family fondly recalls how her heart was fullest when she was surrounded by her loved ones, epitomizing the very essence of a nurturing matriarch. Linda touched the lives of many, with a kindness and warmth that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

A Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Rogers Family Mortuary, 205 State Avenue, in Alamosa. Interment will follow services in the San Luis Valley Cemetery in Monte Vista.
