Linda Kay Mitchell, 82, of Mineola, Texas, passed away on October 6, 2025, at the Autumn Wind Assisted Living. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025 with visitation at 9:00 AM.

Linda was born on December 16, 1942, in Lone Oak, Texas, to Willie Valton and Cleta Merle Barrow Romine. She married Gerald Don Mitchell on September 8, 1961, in Lone Oak, Texas. They later moved to Quinlan, Texas where they lived for many years. Besides being a homemaker, she was owner of an arts and craft store and also worked as a banker for several years. She attended the Methodist Church in Quinlan.

Linda was a gifted artist who painted several beautiful pictures using charcoal, pastels, and oil paints. She was also an incredible cook and baker and will be fondly remembered by her son, daughter-in-love, nieces, nephews, and grandson for her amazing biscuits and chocolate syrup.

Linda also loved growing all kinds of plants and flowers. Her home was always surrounded by them. Linda enjoyed Sunday drives with Don through the country as well as frequent trips to Queen Wilhelmina with family.

Linda is survived by her husband, Don Mitchell; son, Chad Mitchell and wife, Kara; brother-in-law, William ''Bill'' Sanders; sister-in-law, Sherry Romine; grandson, Jase Mitchell; niece, Lindsay Romine; nephews, Brian Romine and wife, Denise, Randy Patton and wife, Kelly, Clint Sanders and wife, Melissa, and Jeremy Sanders and wife, Courtney.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Romine, and sister-in-law, Linda Ann Sanders.
