Linda Newman of Magna, Utah, passed away on August 8, 2025 at St. Marks Hospital, due to breast cancer. Born on November 8, 1954, to William and Francis Pendley. Linda grew up on a farm and enjoyed riding her horse Diamond. She graduated from Cypress High School in 1973. She was a stay-at -home mom and later went on to also have a successful career with the Utah State government with whom she retired in 2014. She met her love online and in-person for the first time in Houston, Texas. Linda then married Todd Newman on July 29th, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is survived by her husband of 11 years, Todd Newman; her three sons, Justin Trujillo, Matt Trujillo, and Jeremy Trujillo; her granddaughters, Myra Trujillo, Alexia Collins, Lexi Wold; her grandsons, Braxton Trujillo, Antone Sazesh, Mateo Trujillo; her sisters, Bonnie Topham, Francine Hoffer, Barbara Litz; her brothers, Billy Pendley, Randy Pendley, and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Francis Pendley; her sister, Cindy Litz; her stepdaughter, Lori Trujillo. The most well-known scripture of love is found in I Corinthians 13:4-7 and this passage represents Linda's beauatiful spirit. Her faithfulness and love for the Lord was unwavering. She was devoted and had a firm foundation in God. Proverbs 31:28-29 says "Her children arise and call her blessed and her husband also praises her, many women do noble things, but you surpass them all" this is who she was as a person. Linda was also known for her great cooking including chile verde, pozole, and pumpkin pie. She enjoyed singing, gardening, fishing, and the outdoors. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, showed kindness to everyone, her favorite shows were, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith, Mr. Bean, and The Waltons. She was an animal lover and survived by her best friend Sonny. A viewing and a memorial service celebrating Linda's life will be will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, at Landmark Apostolic Church, located at 3950 S. Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, UT 84119. The viewing will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and the service will begin at 1:00 pm. Following the service, a luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall. "Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate" (Proverbs 31:31).
