Linda Gimmel, 77 of Clarksburg died on August 19, 2025 at UHC following an extended illness.
Linda was the daughter of the late Boyd and Dorothea (Downey) Nutter of Clarksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Ernest "Ernie" Gimmel.
She is survived by her stepmother Ro Nutter, her stepsister Leona Nutter, her caregiver angels Sandy Mauro and Kayleah Moats and many special friends, most notably her best friend and roommate for 36 years, Debbie Glaus.
Linda was a mortgage banker for 34 years at several area Banks, the last being BC Bank of Fairmont. Linda was past Worthy Matron of Queen Esther chapter number 11 Order of Eastern Star and past president and District Governor of Quota Club International. She was a past member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine. She proudly served on the board of directors of the Miss WV Pageant, was an active participant in the Bridgeport Garden Club, and was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church.
Linda was a caring and giving friend and her smile and laughter will be missed by many. Linda's favorite thing was to have a house full of food and friends. If you ever had Christmas in Linda Gimmel's home you know how special those times were.
Family and friends may call at the Amos and Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00 am with Reverend Matthew Paugh, Reverend Jim Lang and Reverend Richard Wellock officiating. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorial contributions be made to the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
