LINDA PEIRANO
Linda Joyce Peirano, 69, of Garden City, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home on September 30, 2025. She was born on April 24, 1956, in Lamar, Colorado, the daughter of Orley and Frankie Gleason.
Linda's childhood took her from Lamar to Englewood, Colorado, then to Apple Valley, California, before her family settled in Goodland, Kansas. There she attended school from fourth grade through her senior year, graduating with the class of 1974.
She built a life rooted in hard work, family, and care for others. Linda worked in a variety of administrative roles in Goodland and also ran a daycare while raising her two sons, Cory and Jeremy Murray. With her father's help, Linda and her family later opened Goodies restaurant in Tribune, Kansas, before spending time in Lakin and eventually settling in Garden City in 1998.
It was in Garden City that Linda met the love of her life, Byron Peirano. The two were married on May 25, 2003, and shared more than two decades of deep love and partnership.
From Lakin to Garden City, Linda had a successful career as an administrative assistant, working for Beef Products Incorporated, Taylor and Associates, Edward Jones, and Wells Fargo Advisors, where she spent 20 years before retiring in April of 2025.
Proud beyond measure of her family, Linda's greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. Both of her sons served as United States Marines, a fact she shared with immense pride, always honoring their service and the families they built. She delighted in spending time with her seven grandchildren shopping, baking, crafting, playing outside, cheering at their sporting events, and creating memories that will live on in their hearts. She loved tending her lawn and garden, working with her hands, and filling her home with warmth. Linda also shared her home with many beloved pets through the years, each of whom she loved dearly and treated as part of the family. The holidays were especially joyful for her, and she loved decorating the house, spending time with her family, and showering her loved ones with warmth and presents.
Linda also gave her time and energy to causes close to her heart. She served as Treasurer for American Gratitude, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting veterans, and found deep purpose in helping organize their annual retreat and honoring those who gave so much to their country.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Byron Peirano; her sons, Cory Murray and his wife Maria of Baker, Florida, and Jeremy Murray and his wife Melissa of Jacksonville, North Carolina; her cherished grandchildren, Adrian, Twila, Tesla, Hazel, Asher, Ian, and Kaden; her brother, Bruce Gleason and his wife Tina of Goodland, Kansas; as well as extended family and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orley and Frankie Gleason of Goodland, Kansas; her half-brother, Ralph Gleason, and his wife, Lori Gleason, of Pahrump, Nevada.
Linda will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her pride in her sons' service, her giving heart, her love for animals, and the joy she found in life's simple blessings.
