Linda Jean Whitfield Poole, age 78, of Homer, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Mrs. Poole was born on January 26, 1947 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Hubert and Gertrude Caudell Whitfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Poole; sisters, Carolyn Purcell, Wansa Purcell, Sue Vern Moore, Genell Williams; and brother, Gary "Whit" Whitfield.
Mrs. Poole and her husband, Billy were charter members of Charity Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Brant Langston, Homer; Rhonda and Jeff Gowder, of Homer; grandchildren, Shannon Gowder, Misty Gowder, Drew and his wife Christen Gowder, and Alexis Langston and her husband, Trent Cape; and great-grandchildren, Peyton Gowder, Rylan Gowder, and Blakelynn Cape; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Yvonne Whitfield, of Mt. Airy; Lamar and Debbie Whitfield, of Clarkesville; sister-in-law, Lynn Whitfield, of Homer; and many other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Linda's caregiver, Brandy West for the excellent care and compassion she has shown.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Charity Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Smith and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Poole will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until the service hour.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Charity Baptist Church, 1302 Highway 51, Homer, Georgia 30547.
