Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bridges Funeral Home on Oct. 1, 2025.
Linda K. Ramsey, age 76, of Blaine, went home to be with her Savior August 22, 2025. To her family and friends, she was so much more than a wife, mom, grandmom, sister, and aunt-she was the one who made every gathering feel special, always lifted others up, and whose faith and kindness shined through in everything she did.
Born in Grainger County on May 8, 1949, to Raymond and Janice (Renfro) Cameron, Linda grew up as the eleventh of twelve children. In 1962, Linda met Bill Ramsey on her school bus, where the two struck up a simple friendship that quietly grew over the years. In 1967, Bill asked her out for a date-a night at the Tennessee Valley Fair-and from there their relationship continued to grow. Almost exactly one year later, on September 6, 1968, they were married at Richland Baptist Church, beginning a marriage that would last 58 years.
Her roots at Mouth of Richland Baptist Church ran deep, where she taught children's Sunday School and Vacation Bible School-planting seeds of faith in young lives. In later years, she found joy worshiping at First Baptist Church Knoxville, where she delighted in sitting beside her grandchildren each Sunday.
Music was one of Linda's passions. She lifted her voice with the Richland Singers, the Richland Choir, Richland Ensemble Endless Praise, and during her mid-years shared countless songs and laughter with dear friends and fellow musicians-Mike & Betsy Frazier, Kay & Allen Roach, Darrell & Darla Ramsey, and Eugene Bull.
Her love of children extended beyond church walls into the halls of Joppa Elementary, where she spent years faithfully supporting students and staff as a cafeteria worker and teaching assistant. She was a helper, encourager, and an example of kindness to the staff and countless children.
Linda had a gift for making others feel welcome. Her kitchen table and back porch were places of laughter, stories, and food. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sitting on her porch and swing to soak in the beauty of God's creation. Above all, Linda poured her love into her family-especially her grandchildren, with whom she created crafts, played, and made lasting memories.
She has been joyously reunited with loved ones: Parents, Raymond and Janice Cameron; brothers, Allen Cameron, W.L. Cameron, Raymond "Shot" Cameron, Max Cameron, Ray Cameron, and Faine Cameron; sisters, Bobbie Jo Morgan, Wanda Bowles, and Minnie Johnson.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Bill; children, Cindy & David Cihak and Michael & Bobbie Ramsey; grandchildren, Preston and Catherine; and sisters Barbara Stooksbury and Lena Harrell.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 AM on Wednesday at Mouth of Richland Cemetery for an 11:00 AM Graveside Service with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating. Nephews Jeremy Cameron, Brian Patterson, Rick Patterson, Allen Ramsey, Andy Ramsey, Blake Ramsey, Greg Terry, and Tony Williams will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Linda's love of children and learning, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Knoxville Children's and Youth Ministry at fbcknox.org/give then choose Memorial fund and adding "Linda Ramsey" to the notes on the payment page; or to the Grainger County Imagination Library at P.O.
