Born on Chincoteague Island, Virginia on May 5th, 1944, he spent most of his youth in Bridgeville, Delaware before marrying and moving to Natick, MA. It was here he proudly bought and worked to refurbish a home in which he raised his family.
He began a lengthy career in 1966 at Electric Time in Natick, MA where he was a respected leader and skilled craftsman. He retired in 2000 after 34 years. Many of the clocks he built still stand proudly in town squares across America.
He did not stay retired for long and re-entered the work force in 2001 with B&C Pressure Washing whose owner, Robert Velazquez, he called "a brother". He was requested and recommended by clients for his valued reputation as a skilled, dependable and friendly worker.
Donald was an active, honorary member and friend of both the AmVets Post 79 and the VFW Post 1724 in Natick, MA. He was a greatly valued friend and volunteered many years of service to his community.
Donald married Marjorie A. Long Belec in 1997 and moved to North Charleston, SC where he welcomed many grandchildren and great grandchildren over the years.
His hobbies included working on and around his home, building, tinkering, creating art and studying the Bible with his wife, Marjorie.
Church Affiliation: MA: He was a faithful member of Celebration International Church (formerly Wellesley Park AOG with Rev. Joe and Donna Sapienza. SC: He was an upstanding member and friend of the New Covenant Church of God in Summerville, SC (Rev. Marc and Mary Campbell). He was affectionately nicknamed "the candy man" because he always had some sweets to give. He also hosted and led a Men's Fellowship group in his home.
