Brian Jay Bowden was born on September 29, 1968, to Harold Wayne and Alice Jean (Gallett) Bowden in Fairbanks, Alaska. He later attended school in Lake City, Arkansas, where he graduated from high school with the Class of 1987.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Brian worked his way up the ladder at Eastex Tower, LLC, ultimately serving as a foreman at the time of his passing. His career took him across many places and eventually led him to Altus, Oklahoma where he met his life partner, Kimberly Self, in 2014. Together, they made their home in Blair.
Known as the life of the party, Brian also appreciated the simple joy of sitting back and taking in the moment. He was rarely idle—always tinkering, exploring, or planning the next adventure. Brian had a deep love for the outdoors, especially riding Razors across sand dunes and open roads. He never passed up a casino run and took great pride in watching his grandchildren play ball, cheering them on with unmistakable enthusiasm.
Brian passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 57 in Altus, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents. His memory will live on in his partner, Kim Self; daughter, Katelyn Despain and husband, Brendan; stepdaughter, Carrie Blocker and husband, Dewayne; sisters, Suzanne Williams, Patricia Bowden, and Lynn Bowden; nephew, Chad Williams and wife, Elizabeth; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online memorial tributes and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.kincannonfuneralhome.com.
