Linda Marie Binggeli Reynolds, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025, in
Topeka, Kansas after a courageous 19-month battle against cancer. She was born June 26, 1951, in Topeka, to Arthur Edwin and Alta Pauline "Sally" Burns Binggeli. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1969. Linda attended Kansas State University and Washburn University. She then attended and graduated with an RN Degree from Stormont Vail School of Nursing in 1974. Linda then started working at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka and was employed for over 43 years retiring in 2017. At St. Francis Hospital she worked in labor and delivery, taught Lamaze classes for 25 years and was a surgical nurse for over 30 years.
Linda excelled in her youth in track and field as a national caliber high jumper and was a member of the Topeka Cosmos Track Team coached by Dr. John Davis, Jr. In 1968, she broke the National Junior Olympics women's high jump record with a winning height of 5'6". Linda was an active member of Countryside United Methodist Church and the Topeka Area Water Garden Society (TAWGS). Linda loved to travel and ventured numerous trips to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, South America and the South Pacific. She was an avid bicycle rider, having completed the Bike Across Kansas (BAK) and many other rides with friends over the years across the United States. Per Linda's wishes, her bicycle friends are encouraged to wear their favorite bike jersey to her Celebration of Life.
Linda was married to Marty Lynn Garren and they had three children, Heidi Linnay Garren, Lisa Marie Garren and Matthew Thomas Garren; they later divorced. She married Douglas Howard Reynolds on December 27, 1988 in Topeka.
Linda is survived by husband, Douglas Howard Reynolds; daughter, Lisa Marie Garren Goodman (Seth); son, Matthew Thomas Garren; grandchildren, Marin Marie Schuler, Makena Linnay Schuler, Hayden Linnay Everley and Parker Phillip Everley; step-grandchildren, Kylee Marie Goodman and Trevor James Goodman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Heidi Linnay Garren Everley; parents; infant sister, Judith; sister, Diana Sue Binggeli Mayer; grandmother, Thelma Burns; and niece, Rebecca Michelle Reynolds.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2026, at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Road, Topeka KS 66611, where Celebration of Linda's Life will be at 3 p.m. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission, or Helping Hands Humane Society, or the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society of America and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
