Webster - Linda Kate Rhodes, a bright spark in the lives of all who knew her, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Webster, MA, on December 9, 2024. Born on July 12, 2018, in Providence, RI, Linda's six years were a whirlwind of joy, love, and imaginative play that left an indelible mark on her family and friends.
The beloved daughter of Antoinette M. Carreau and Thomas K. Rhodes, she was a cherished sister to Aaron Johnson, Tanya Johnson, Michael Rhodes, and Ray Rhodes. Linda's presence brought a special light to their lives, and her absence will leave a void impossible to fill.
Linda's grandmother: Sheila Shumacher of Arkansas, adored her granddaughter and cherished every moment they spent with her. She was a cherished niece to Aunt Becky Rhodes of RI and Uncle Jim Rhodes of NH. Linda was predeceased by her grandfathers: Michael Carreau and David Rhodes.
At the tender age of six, Linda was a current 1st-grade student at Park Ave. Elementary, where she was known for her infectious smile and eagerness to learn. Her teachers and classmates will remember her as a bright light in the classroom, always ready to lend a hand or share a giggle.
Linda's interests were as vibrant and varied as her personality. She had just started to lose her baby teeth, and the idea of the tooth fairy filled her with wonder and excitement. Her imagination knew no bounds; she adored unicorns, fairies, and all things magical. Linda's love for dressing up was evident whether she was donning a princess dress or superhero attire, ready to embark on an adventure.
Warm hugs were one of Linda's favorite things, and she gave them generously. Her love for her little brother, Ray, was evident in their playful interactions and shared laughter. Together, they created a world of joy that will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
The excitement of the Christmas season had just begun to sparkle in Linda's eyes, a time of year that now will forever hold her memory even closer to the hearts of those who loved her.
Linda's life, though far too brief, was a testament to the capacity for joy and love in the heart of a child. Her spirit, a blend of kindness, curiosity, and playful exuberance, will forever be remembered and cherished.
As we say goodbye to Linda Kate Rhodes, we celebrate the immense joy she brought into this world. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all who were touched by her remarkable spirit.
