Linda Jean Saunders, 78, of Wichita Falls, Texas, went to heaven on Friday, October 24, 2025. Visitation will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, October 29 at Lunn's chapel. Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm afterward with Terri Whitgrove officiating. Immediately following is interment at Crestview Memorial Park at 1917 Archer City Hwy.

Linda was the oldest of 5 daughters of the late Floyd and Martha Jo Lawler and was born on March 14, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jerry Freeman; nephew David Freeman, sister and brother-in-law Cathy and Paul Roberts, and her granddaughter Brittani Brunn.

Linda had a varied work history. She started as a soda jerk, was a court reporter, took pride in being a hairdresser, worked in medical insurance, and served in an administrative assistant capacity at several places where her slow southern drawl was instantly recognizable when she answered the phone.

Outside of work, Linda was known for her love of God. She was a lifelong United Methodist. Most of her adult life, she attended Grant Street UMC. She participated in and led several Emmaus and Kairos walks over the years.

In her younger years, she liked to run, played softball in a co-ed church league, and was in a bowling league for many years.

She was also known for the gift of her soprano voice, which started in Acapella choir at Old High. She shared her voice through church choir most of her life, as well as weddings and other events; and performed in South Pacific with her husband. Linda loved music, especially Barbra Streisand, which wasn't the best "cleaning music" on Saturday mornings.

She was also a good cook and talented seamstress and loved to read, but most of all, she loved to talk to anyone and everyone.

Linda is survived by her husband of almost 60 years Richard Saunders, her 3 daughters Melissa Benda (Eric), Kim Lofland (Scotty), Deborah Connett; her 6 grandkids Morgaine Brunn (Alex), Tim Lofland, Ben Lofland, Monika Hastings, Ashley Hastings, Kris Connett; her 6 great grandkids Oliver Winton, Kenzlee Pebley, Jase Pebley, Kaelyn Gholson, Rylee Wells, and Rocky Wells; her 2 sisters Tammy Pienaar (Kock) and Lauri L; her 4 nieces Lori Cowan (Derek), Johnica Winter (Jeff), Lexi Litteken, Jennifer Williams; her 4 nephews Michael Roberts, Jake Fetsch, Trey Litteken, Tom McElvain; her 4 great nieces Emily Cowan, Callie Freeman, Jenna Freeman, Junabelle Winter; her 3 great nephews Scott Cowan, Matt Cowan, Brock Freeman, and many cousins all who she remembered and spoke of fondly.
