Sharon Kay Gilmore, 81, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Lunn's Chapel, with Rev. Catherine Meyenberg officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Boyd and Dorothy Gilmore, Sharon was born on February 15, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Cheryl Gilmore, and her stepdaughter, Angie Miller.

Sharon worked in banking for most of her career, but the job she was most proud of was her time working for NASA, where she spent several years contributing to a mission she loved deeply. She carried great pride in that chapter of her life and spoke of it often.

Outside of work, Sharon was known for her many talents and her love of creativity. She was an extraordinary quilter, creating beautiful, intricate quilts that brought warmth and joy to her family and friends. When she wasn't quilting, Sharon could be found dragging Kemp, spending time with family and friends at P2, or taking road trips with her quilting besties. Sharon was always ready for a new adventure and a good laugh.

Sharon is survived by her nephew Mark and wife Sharon Gilmore of Prosper, Texas; nephew Jody Gilmore of Prosper and wife Hilda Gilmore of Houston, Texas; and nephew Scott Gilmore and Julie Lowack of Wichita Falls, Texas; her stepson Art and wife Jane Frederickson of Wooster, Ohio; great-niece Brittney and husband Cheyenne Starns of Ada, Oklahoma; great-nephew Zack Gilmore of Prosper, Texas, great- nephew Jacob and wife Andressa Gilmore of Pflugerville, Texas; great-nephew Nathan and wife Holly Long of Houston, TX, great- nephew Steven and wife Tess Long of Houston, and great-niece Lauren and husband Luis Ron of Houston, TX, and great-great-nieces and nephews Madie, Walker, Ana, Cloe, Max, Harper, Henry, Owen, Damian, and Isaac.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Red River Quilters Guild of Wichita Falls, Texas, in honor of Sharon's lifelong passion for quilting and creativity.
